A Tribute to Justin

Justin Wade Baty, 13 year old son of Beverly Tolson Strickland and Alan Baty passed away July 19, 2000. Justin Died from PAM (Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis). Justin contracted this fatal water borne disease while visiting his father at Lake Texoma. The disease is reportedly rare but we have learned that it is not nearly as rare as the health department claims. It was reported to us that 5 children died from PAM during the Summer of 2001.

In memory of Justin, our family has formed a foundation in his name, Justin Baty Amebic Foundation. At this time, no funding is available for research on this disease, but it is our goal to change this and we need your help. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Please help prevent other families from suffering a loss similar to ours. If your family has been affected by this terrible disease, please contact us and we will add your story to Justin’s.

Thank you very much for visiting Justin’s Website

JUSTIN

How do we say good-bye to one with so much life to live -
How do we say farewell to one that has so much to give -

Like a tender young rose plucked from the vine
Before it could fully bloom,
Justin was called to come back home
Though for us it was much too soon.

But what a mark this young man made
As he walked across our heart,
His quiet mild manner and beautiful eyes
His willingness to do his part.

A wonderful son - an awesome big brother
A friend to all he met,
Justin could smile and make you feel better,
Your worries you would soon forget.

A lover of life and the great outdoors,
God’s creations Justin adored -
Soft-hearted he would take any stray in,
If they needed little he’d want to give more.

Though his time on earth was much too brief,
Not a day of life we would trade -
We’ll treasure our memories and thoughts of him,
And relive the dreams we had made.

For now we see in a mirror dim,
Only part of the plan we know -
But one day we’ll see face to face
And understand God is in control.

Gone from view is our precious babe,
Looking down from heaven above,
As the stars light up the darkest night
Our lives will shine from his love.
